Home Transformation & Addition — Accessory

Built in 1905, this 1-story house with a mansard roof and a walkout basement needed a transition to meet the growing needs, lifestyle, and dual professions of the homeowner. The attached addition was initially designed as a rental unit; however, the homeowner came to enjoy the configuration and features of the new addition and eventually moved into the 1-bedroom studio. This well-lit layout is perfect for not only providing a cozy place to read and enjoy some solitude, but also provides an open space for simple entertaining and cooking with guests!
